This was a very
enjoyable read--and almost impossibly to "review" without spoilers,
so I'll keep it short.
The story is simple
enough; a man and woman who just started dating are taking a drive to the
country to meet the guy's parents. Along the way, the reader gets some great
character studies, but nothing that will betray the ending; and the ending is
the entire reason for reading this book.
I don't think you'll see
it coming. And when it comes you'll probably think, "I knew it all
along," but I promise you, you didn't.
This book is not what it
appears to be and I wish someone had told me before I started reading it to pay
VERY close attention to everything; throw-away lines, clues, hints, seemingly
unnecessary details, and interaction with minor characters.
I intend to read it
again very soon just to see what I missed the first time around.
So now I'm checking out
the stars on top of the review page to make a decision... 3 stars=I liked it. 4
stars=I really liked it.
And I really liked it.
